I've looked in the system log (SYSLOG) but find nothing pertinent, so far as I can tell.
Most of the time there's nothing I can do to perform problem determination, since the system totally freezes and one's only alternative is to reboot to continue. Once or twice this has worked and gotten me this error message:ģ165.334472 BUG: soft lock - CPU#1 stuck for 24s! [Xorg:1705} Problem Determination: I've tried pressing ALT plus PrtScn keys and while holding them down typing in REISUB. Once or twice we've gotten a black screen with the last message being "restoring resolver state" and the screen just freezes on that. Once or twice we've gotten a totally black screen, with the underline cursor in the top lefthand corner, again you can move the mouse cursor but it has no effect. You can move the mouse cursor but can't click on anything, everything is frozen.
Symptoms: Usually when the freeze/crash happens, the screen just totally freezes. This continues even after Disabling all FF add-ons, resetting the FF profile, disabling hardware acceleration, etc.
Update: I support 6 machines, all running Mint 17.1 (either 32 or 64 bit) with current updates applied and Xfce, FF is at 41.0.1.Īt this time 2 boxes are still suffering from these freezes/crashes.
